Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the UniTill app or website. By creating an account or using UniTill, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. About UniTill
UniTill is a peer-to-peer marketplace platform operated by UniTill Ltd, designed exclusively for students at UK universities. UniTill enables verified students to list, buy, sell, and swap second-hand items with other verified students at their institution.
2. Eligibility
To register and use UniTill, you must: (a) be currently enrolled at a UK university or higher education institution; (b) verify your student status using a valid university email address (ending in .ac.uk or equivalent); (c) be at least 18 years of age; and (d) have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. UniTill reserves the right to verify your eligibility at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account. UniTill will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials. You may only hold one account on UniTill.
4. Listings and Content
When you post a listing on UniTill, you confirm that: (a) you are the lawful owner of the item or have the right to sell it; (b) the item is accurately described and the photographs are genuine; (c) the item is not prohibited under these Terms or applicable law; and (d) the asking price is fair and not misleading. UniTill reserves the right to remove any listing that violates these Terms without notice.
5. Prohibited Items
The following items may not be listed on UniTill: weapons, firearms, or ammunition; controlled substances or drug paraphernalia; stolen goods; counterfeit or infringing items; adult content; items subject to recall or safety notices; live animals; and any item whose sale is prohibited by UK law. This list is not exhaustive. UniTill may update the list of prohibited items at any time.
6. Transactions
UniTill is a platform that facilitates introductions between buyers and sellers. UniTill is not a party to any transaction between users. All agreements for the sale, purchase, or exchange of items are made solely between the buyer and seller. UniTill does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing. You transact at your own risk and are encouraged to meet in safe, public locations on campus.
7. Fees
UniTill is currently free to use for all verified students. We reserve the right to introduce fees in the future with reasonable notice to users. Any applicable fees will be clearly communicated before they take effect.
8. User Conduct
You agree not to: use UniTill for any unlawful purpose; harass, threaten, or abuse other users; post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings; attempt to circumvent our verification systems; scrape, copy, or redistribute UniTill content without permission; or use automated tools to access the platform. Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
9. Intellectual Property
UniTill and its content, features, and functionality are owned by UniTill Ltd and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you post, but by posting it you grant UniTill a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UniTill Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including losses arising from transactions between users, reliance on listings, or any interruption to the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed £100 in any 12-month period.
11. Termination
UniTill may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these Terms, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your listings will be removed and your access to the platform will cease.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. Continued use of UniTill after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
